How to read this simulator

Use wind direction FROM, true course, and true airspeed. All speeds are in knots; all directions are true. The wind mark rotates with the compass disk. The slide grid shows speed arcs and correction-angle rays. At the solved position, the mark sits on the TAS arc and the center reads ground speed. A mark to the right means a right correction; a mark to the left means a left correction. The aircraft symbol illustrates the corrected heading relative to the selected course.

Low and high charts change grid density and scale, not the answer. The grid automatically zooms out for large wind marks. Manual instrument readings describe your current alignment, while solution cards describe your entered flight conditions. Reset restores the example: wind 230° at 18 kt, course 090°, TAS 125 kt.

This is a wind-side trainer, not the logarithmic calculation side. It assumes steady horizontal wind and true airspeed. It does not calculate magnetic variation or compass deviation. Verify flight-planning results against approved sources.
